Choose what transport suits you best \u2013 a plane, bus, car, or ferry across the Baltic Sea.<\/p>\n<h5>Flying<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.riga-airport.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riga International Airport<\/a> is only 10 km from the Riga city center. A taxi ride from the airport to central Riga takes between fifteen and twenty minutes, depending on traffic, and costs approximately EUR 10\u201315.<\/p>\n<p>Bus No. 22 runs to and from the airport and departs every 10\u201320 minutes from the stop opposite the bus terminal building near the Old Town. Bus No. 22 is the only one where tickets can be purchased from the driver, with payment accepted only by card (cost 1.81 EUR). It is also possible to use regular tickets, which must be bought in advance for all other routes. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks, R\u012bgas Satiksme vending machines, or via the R\u012bgas Satiksme app or Mobilly app.<\/p>\n<h5>Bus connections<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/luxexpress.eu\/en\/destinations\/riga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lux Express<\/a> is the largest passenger carrier in the Baltics, ensuring several daily departures from such cities as Tallinn, Tartu, Parnu, Vilnius, Warsaw, etc. Tickets can be purchased online starting from EUR 5 for early-bird seats. Lux Express also operates a client service office at the Riga Central Bus Terminal \u2013 just five minutes from Old Town.<\/p>\n<h4>Visas<\/h4>\n<p>Latvia is a member of the European Union, therefore travelling to Latvia and crossing borders is as simple as travelling to any other European Union country. Latvia is part of the Schengen Area, which is why those travelling to Latvia from the Schengen Area do not have to go through border controls.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Brazil and other countries <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.mfa.gov.lv\/en\/estonia\/consular-information\/countries-whose-citizens-may-enter-latvia-without-a-visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">do not need a visa to visit Latvia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mfa.gov.lv\/en\/entry-latvia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia<\/a> website for more information or apply for a Schengen area visa.<\/p>\n<h4>Public transport<\/h4>\n<p>In Riga, public transport services are provided by buses, trams, trolley-buses, and minibuses. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rigassatiksme.lv\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rigas satiksme website<\/a>\u00a0offers public transport timetables, a map, and a route planner.<\/p>\n<p>The most convenient way to buy public transport tickets is at Narvesen outlets or at stops equipped with ticket machines (then it will cost you EUR 1,50 for 90 minutes ticket) \u2013 although such machines are not available at all stops. You can easily buy public transport tickets using <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilly.lv\/en\/front-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mobill<\/a>y mobile application.<\/p>\n<p>A 90-minute ticket can be used for 90 minutes, with the option to travel on any tram, trolleybus or bus route (a ticket must be registered each time another public transport vehicle is entered).<\/p>\n<h4>Accessibility<\/h4>\n<p>Many of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rigassatiksme.lv\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Riga public transport<\/a>&#8216;s trams, trolleys and buses are wheelchair accessible.
