Professor PETER NIELSEN
Lecture Topic: TOWARDS PEPTIDE NUCLEIC ACID (PNA) BASED TRANSLATION AND REPLICATION SYSTEMS










Peter E. Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1951, and has been affiliated with University of Copenhagen since 1980, where he became full professor in 1995. He is one of the inventors of peptide nucleic acid (PNA) (1991).
He is the co-founder of two Biotech companies in Denmark.
Principal Investigator in more than 10 EU framework projects
Invited speaker at more than 50 international conferences
Author and co-author of more than 400 scientific publications and reviews (>300 original papers). Co-inventor on more than 20 patents and patent applications, and he serves on the advisory board on 5 scientific journals and is Editor-in-Chief on “Artificial DNA”. Editor of 5 books. (H-index = 64, over 14000 citations in total).
